Dear Rawan Qubrosi,
thanks a lot for your motivating email! I'm happy that you like the Bangladesh projects. A friend of mine, Sigi Attenender worked as well for Shigeru Ban - have you met him?
It's good that you returned to Jordan and great that you want to do something for your country.
I don`t believe much in learning from books or from schools, the best teachers are the people. What I always try is to go to a place where I have some social network, try to find out what is needed and what are the specific potentials of this place and then start finding solutions and building them. It is not very easy, but these can be small scale things. A friend of mine in BAngledesh for example worked in a slum in Dhaka, he just distributed seeds for plants and started to make small gardens with the pelople and the slum turned into a nice garden. then he made a bamboo platform for the kids on a pond and he found some old books friend's didn`t use anymore and made a small library for the people there, then he found a sponsor for a water filtering machine etc. Things are developing on thier own if you only start and listen to the people. It's easier to start with a small scale and you will see, pleople will join you, funds will slowly come. I hope that is useful for you...
All the best and good luck!
Anna
