The old defunct Amman station of the Hejaz Railway... why Cant we renovate it and reuse it..
The Hejaz Railway was built 100 years ago to carry pilgrims from Istanbul to Medina but was blown up by Lawrence of Arabia during World War I. Stretches of the line are still used today by passenger and goods trains with engines and carriages from another era.
if we already have the base for a connection between syria istanbul saudi arabia..other than it creates a line to connect the north and the south of Jordan.
why dont we recreate it all over again with that touch of history in it..
The old carriages with the new ones,, the old one to remain as a moving museum within the new.
The railway was also used to maintain Ottoman rule in more distant provinces ..so then why don't we redefine this, with this something beautiful and functional and cultural.
they thought right, their vision was taking them somewhere..its easy to alter such a vision into sth beneficial .
